Chad Smith has been practicing law for over 10 years and brings his experiences and knowledge in the realms of both criminal and civil litigation.  He began his career as a prosecutor in Louisville, Kentucky, which allowed him the ability to quickly develop his courtroom skills through numerous suppression hearings, motion practice and trial.  After 5 years as a prosecutor, Chad moved into the world of civil litigation, which included defending insurance companies, commercial businesses and individuals in complex toxic tort litigation, commercial issues and personal injury claims.  Chad is licensed in both Indiana and Kentucky and has been involved in cases before both Indiana and Kentucky state courts as well as the Indiana Court of Appeals and the United States District Court, Southern Indiana Division.  He believes that the most important role for an attorney is to make sure the client is fully informed as their case progresses as many clients are unfamiliar with the litigation process.    Chad brings his knowledge and experience from various aspects of litigation and the intricacies of Indiana and Kentucky’s legal systems to the Stephen Legal Group.

 

Chad is new to Greensburg, but was born and raised in Indiana and is happy to be returning to the Hoosier state.  Chad and his wife, Renee, are excited to become involved in the community and their two daughters are enjoying their extracurricular activities of gymnastics, softball, swimming and soccer.
